Privacy Policy
RootSaid Community Privacy Pact
At RootSaid, we value your privacy as much as we value a clean solder joint. This page explains how we handle the small amount of data we collect and how we keep this space safe for everyone.
1. What We Collect (And Why)
We keep things minimal. Currently, we may collect:
- Your Name: So we know who we’re talking to in the comments and forums.
Our Promise: We are here to build things, not to sell your data. We will never sell your personal information to third parties. Period.
2. How We Use This Info
We use the basic info we gather to:
- Improve the tutorials and projects based on what the community likes.
- Keep the community secure and spam-free.
- Send you the occasional update on new builds (if you’ve opted in).
3. Let’s Talk About Cookies 🍪
Like almost every site on the web, we use “cookies.” Think of them as a digital “Hello, My Name Is” sticker.
- Traffic Logging: we use cookies to see which projects are trending. This helps us decide whether to make more Arduino tutorials or more Raspberry Pi guides.
- Your Choice: You can tell your browser to reject cookies. You’ll still be able to use the site, though some interactive features might act a bit wonky.
4. Security
We take data security seriously. We use industry-standard digital safeguards to make sure your info stays private. While no system is 100% unhackable, we do our best to protect our community’s data as if it were our own.
5. Leaving the Workshop (External Links)
Our tutorials often link to external datasheets, code repositories (like GitHub), or parts stores. Once you click those links and leave RootSaid, we no longer have control over your privacy. We recommend checking the privacy policy of any site where you’re entering sensitive info.
